One of the major improvement projects of Maxima Rebuild Center (MRC) is the procurement of the 2000 horse power capacity dynamometer. This was bought from Taylor Dynamometers, of
Wisconsin,
USA, which one of the most advance, state of the art dynamometer in the
Philippines. This same brand and model is also being used by Komatsu Reman Indonesia (KRI). Maxima invested about US$ 100,000 (more than Php 5 million) for the dynamometer excluding the locally supplied items.
With this dynamometer, Maxima can now perform comprehensive engine performance test in accordance with Komatsu Standards. This also enables testing the whole range of engine sizes which are being used in various Komatsu Heavy Equipment operating in our country.
The DX38 Dynamometer is equipped with the following sophisticated attachments:
- Dynepro Instrumentation Unit
- Fuel Measurement Unit
- Engine Instrumentation Unit
- Engine Cart
- Cooling Column
